How many hundreds of million$$ did Plug burn through? Little to show for it.

Schenectady County is facing huge tax increases across the board. Every school has an office with multiple duplications from the adjoining school. Think some consolidation and sharing of services are in order here? I lake the part about a retired person on social security having an 'average' house and his taxes now only going up $150.
Oh yea; the GOP thinks people living on Social Security are lazy, non-contributing 'takers'. The city, towns, villages and schools don't mind taking as much money from retirees and low income people as possible and over paying the public employees.
Why can't I sell my ,(over taxed), house in Schenectady; then I could move to a tax free state and survive.

Are these guys renters? Who else would intentionally damage property unless it belonged to some one else.
The fact that there are little children there is the issue. 'You'll shoot your eye out kid'!

I can't believe that schools keep those dinosaur libraries open. The cost is horrendous compared to supplying computer labs stocked with monitors and key boards. No more annual upgrades to all the books that frequently go out of style.
I have a novel idea; merge all the offices and administrations through out the county so all kids are on an equal playing field.
Are the kids in Niskayuna or Glenville more special than the ones in Mariaville or Schenectady??

Phils2008 and wmarincic; I imagine both you guys are volunteer military veterans and have close family members who are actively serving now, (both of which I can answer yes to).
There is no longer any draft, Most of the young volunteers either need the tuition money or are patriotic enough to put their money ,(lives), where their mouth is.
No; I am not a liberal or Democrat but an active true conservative. You guys have stolen our party line and our beliefs.
A huge military is a government enterprise that you say your against. You bash our elected President on Fox and at every chance you get to everyone you see and yet yell 'losing our freedoms of speech' at the same time.
As for your gambling other peoples lives; what about the 60,000 dead Americans in Vietnam, now Iraq and Afghanistan while sitting on your coach in front of the 50" High Def yelling: 'Go get em men'!

Well; I just watched Fox and their desire to promote a first strike on North Korea and shoot down any missile tests despite a warning by Army Generals not to. Right after that segment; there was an independent add asking viewers to help disabled veterans who have sacrificed so much in Iraq and Afghanistan. Take a look at all the crippled vets who can't walk, have trouble functioning and with missing body parts.
Seems Fox will not miss a chance to promote another war despite the reasons, expense or destruction; much less pain and suffering of the people who do the fighting. They still believe the war in Iraq was just.
Why would Global Warming or the effects of burning fossil fuels be of any concern to them?

So; Scotia/Glenville are two separate taxing and government bodies! They each have a public office building, separate police department, confusing fire departments of paid and volunteers, separate highway, water , sewer etc. etc. Scotia is in the town of Glenville and not very separate considering its location at the major bridge and thorough fare through town. Isn't it time for them to merge fully and cut taxes?
Tax and spend will drive everyone out of Schenectady County.

Dave: I prefer my AR15 with several 40 round clips. Saves a lot of trouble having to be precise in my aim. Also cuts down on the butchering time as the deer is pretty much field stripped with all internal organs cleaned out.

All high schools are rated on the number of kids who are accepted into college. Non college kids are tracked and held back in the 9th grade until they turn 16 and drop out. That is what the schools actually want. As for teachers staying after school; good luck. If they don't get paid overtime then they don't stay. That idea went out with tie dyed shirts.
I agree that these kids need to be taught blue collar education and prepared for the real world. Try to find a kid who can work construction or the trades today.

We need all the teachers to become more involved with the parents. For those parents on drugs; what can anyone do?
Pay the teacher aids, per diem substitute teachers to stay after school with a remedial reading program that has multiple students participating. We can not afford any more tax increases. Think out side the box and realize that inner city schools are where the poor, disabled and drugged parents send their kids. Another reason to have a look at consolidation of services; even if the rich school districts don't want any part of Schenectady's kids.
