Iam very confused about the recent article in the gazette about the proposed 7.89% tax increase for homeowners who live in schenectady county.I Live in rotterdam and called the town and I was told that a portion of our taxes do go to schenectady county.Iam facing a 2% tax increase for my town of rotterdam property taxes beginning January of 2013,does this mean that I will also Inherit a tax increase of $79.00 Addition on top of my Town of Rotterdam tax bill based on a home valued at a $150,000 Dollars. If that is the case I personally will have to reach into my wallet (which is empty by the way) and shell out another $130.00. Iam currently puting $350.00 into my savings account each month just to cover my property and school tax now i will have to put in my savings account $430.00 dollars a month.Which I do not Have,I have owned my home in Rotterdam for well over 30 years and just cant afford it anymore. It is quite apparent that our schenectady county legislatures have forgetten about our well being and protecting their own wallets and pocket books.just a word to the wise, the one thing that definds our freedom is the right to home ownership if we lose our homes to the mistakes of the county of Schenectady we will loose our freedom. I strongly urge all who read this comment to call your local goverment and voice your opinion.Do not trust anyone, question everything, protect your home and your constitional rights especially your right to FREE SPEACH. In my personal opinion the way things are going before you know it there will be 2 classes of people the rich and the POOR.Be careful stay focused and protect what is yours.

What the goverment did was dishonest and underhanded.Just because the state is broke does not give them the right to reach into our pockets illegally. I dont care if they make the laws or not, dont forget we the people of this state are broke too!,we are stressed and thats why we smoke!! it relieves our tension, and now that jerk govenor of ours just took our cigarettes away from us!!! I cant afford to smoke anymore and Iam mad as Hell
