Hey Kathleen, you have at least 1 to 2 facts wrong in just about every story. You are a horrible reporter.

Amen to that WOLFDEN. perfect.

On Mayor questions police progress

Posted on March 6 at 8:42 a.m. (Suggest removal)

I bet when the mayor addressed each shift it took a long time with all the stuttering going on.

The mayor is horrible, the only reason he is addressing the police now is because it is starting to make him look bad. He is LAZY, LAZY, LAZY. He ran on his fathers GOOD name and now he might actually have to do his job. He is a lame duck mayor.

Amen to most of you because you are finally seeing through most of SMOKE or HOT AIR that Chaires blows. And what did you see today, now they want to bring Lawrence to a hearing to cover their butts and draw attention away from them. He is as good as fired. You know why? Because Chaires does not like him, plan and simple.(more facts to post on that article).

Morale is so bad in that dept. that nobody wants to be proactive or just anwser the radio. Most are there to collect a paycheck and I can"t blame them. And that Kaz era crap was just that. How stupid could charies be to say that. Kaz promoted him.

Finally, Schenectady already got rid of there best supervisor ever. His name was Commissioner Boyle. And Why? Politics. makes me sick.

Anyone reading this story that plans on becoming a Schenectady police officer, please i tell you do not. You can do much better for yourself and family. The change they are talking about if firing more and more police officers. In Schenectady that is called doing your job now if you are Chaires. So really even if it takes a little longer please go to another dept. Your life will be much better.

As for Chaires, if officers hired during Kazs era were not qualified to be police officers then what does that say about you. You were promoted under him and hired by a chief more absentee then him. You know Chaires, THE SMOKE YOU BLOW, especially to the city council is starting to make me very very sick. You may be able to fool the general public but you can't fool me. You may have gotten your butt out of a sling this time by saying you are going to fire people (hope you sleep well at night). These people are not even going to be able to eat in todays economy. Bottom line is Charies you make my skin crawl.

Some of you people on this blog are simply out of control. So many people want to point the finger when they should look in there own closets. Let me tell you, Mr. Bennett and Chaires have have some secrets from there past that not many people know.

Simply put Officer Johnson is going to get his punishment that is fair, hopefully. Although with Chaires running the show, the punishment won't be fair.

Really all you have here is a Officer sleeping on duty. Johnson did not miss any calls. Sleeping is wrong but every cop does it, including chaires and Bennett( in the past). You can't work mids and say you have not caught some zzz's. Did Johnson take it to a new level? Yes. And for that he is and will be punished. Just everyone sit back and calm down. As far as firing Johnson that would be a very harsh punishment, and i am going to prepare all of you Police Haters now that Johnson will not be fired, in my opinion.

Also, channel 6 news you make me sick going to his house. You people are vultures and are no better then Hookers trying to get a fix of crack. Only your fix is the story. You people are not trying to get his side, you are trying to feed off him while he is dead. Channel 6 did you ever hear of TRESPASSING.

On Absent officer out for month

You people try to work the graveyard shift and drive around for 8 hrs. a night. I will tell u that why u are in your cozy bed, these cops are half awake trying to handle the most savage of people and crime scenes. When there is a break for these officers at 4am by all means park your car and rest your eyes until a call for service goes out. If Johnson doesn't show up then there is a problem. I also believe that officer Johnson was in his patrol zone where the apartment was located.
This is a case where you have some Gazette GEEK trying to become the city desk writer. Little known fact people, the Schenectady fireman sleep during their shifts and i mean every shift, until a call for service goes out. Hopefully this wannabe writer breaks the story on the firemen too. This paper won't though because firemen don't sell papers.
Finally, people like Chaires and Lavare disgust me because you know that they have done these kinds of things but now would never admit it. It's simple Chaires and Lavare could not work the streets of Schenectady with todays criminal climate, they would get eaten alive.

On Chief: Cop 'stealing time'

Bennett as a judge, that seems fair. How can that be fair when the job of a police officer has become so political. When Mr. Lewis and any other officers get fired a instant lawsuit should be filed for violation of the Police contract by the city of Schenectady. Hope Schenectady has it's money saved up because this is going to cost them every time.

Retired, Very good points about police work being a trade at this point and police do learn on the fly. Though i do not believe Chaires will do anything more than further crush morale in that police dept.Retired u brought up his father. His father was an amazing officer who had the respect of everyone. Nobody respects Chaires. U can't be an effective leader if your men don't respect you.
