Sorry, but one more comment on the Chairman's loyalty to his new party. He appointed members of his old party to chair the two most important committees - finance & personnel.

It's interesting to see how long the new Chairman's adherence to the Democratic party lasted - just until he could make a better deal for himself by voting with the minority Republicans. So now the Democrats are a fractured majority with a man at their head who seems to believe "Ego is more important than teamwork"! It's no wonder to me (and I thank heaven) that he's not a State Senator.

wmarincic has shown his paranoia over Democrats being elected to ANY position so often that he has clearly lost ANY credibility. It isn't hard to see his adoration of the race-based "birther" wing of the Republican party & its futile chase after President Obama. Schenectady Democrats are a model of a local political party that is firmly committed to diversity & the results show it's path is the right path. One last word to wmarincic that he'll probably recognize as coming from his own distorted background, "Schenectady - Love It or Leave It!"

What will happen if the losing candidate in a close election insists on viewing the paper ballots that went through the MACHINE & finds small marks of some kind? Will all those marked ballots be removed from the count? Holy chads, what a bonanza for election lawyers!

Could removing the Carousel have played any part? McDonalds didn't stay around long after it was removed! If you can't keep a McDonalds, how do you expect to keep an Express?

So the voters of Amsterdam apparently elected as their new Controller someone with not a shred of knowledge about how to do any of the above activities. The noise you hear is the sound of thousands of heads being shaken in disbelief!
