Jeff Stark couldn't be more correct regarding a change in government form in Montgomery County. There needs to be A "go to person", not a hope of turning 15 heads that wear two hats, one for their town or city ward and one for the county. Having sat on the board some time ago, I know the desire to protect your town first and look for compromise from the county to secure that protection, which may not always be in the best interest of the county. A separate legislative board, with an Elected board president would give the county that "go to person" and a board who has the county's best interest at heart, and let the supervisor's run their respective towns and city wards. It's a fact that if the county is prosperous, the towns and city would be as well.

If we re-elect these clowns in the senate, we should have our heads examined.

I wonder just how many "Administrators" it takes to run a district. Something to the effect that is likely 10 fold the number 20 years ago. Isn't it time to look to consolidation? We're definitely top heavy. If we want to keep our individual school districts, fine, but do some serious sharing of adminitration. Why do we need the amount of Superintendents, and other top level positions that several, if not all, schools in each county could share.

Yet in Amsterdam they HAD to cut 4 custodial positions to save money. You know, the people that have to seriously work for a lving..........

Personally, I think that every County in the state should control police services to the people through the Sheriff's Department. It is done very successfully in other parts of the country and with an elected Sheriff at the helm, don't you think you'd get a more concientious leader than some appointed chief (NO disrespect to the current leader) who only has to answer to a select few? (mayor & council) City police departments have had their run. Eliminate the redundancy and at the same time eliminate a level of tax supported government.
