What snafu? Too many are abusing the STAR exemptions that are supposed to be limited solely to one owner occupied property. There are prominent local examples of those that think they can abuse the system. The "shell game" is keeping thousands of New Yorkers in their homes despite confiscatory taxes. Maybe the Gazette wants more than the current 1,000 Schenectady City tax foreclosures? The only shell game is blaming State mandates on the local refusal to budget and eliminate useless programs.

Mr Marsh -The City Council & Schenectady County Legislature are the two bodies that lack any credibility. The Glenville Supervisor has increased and expanded the tax base. Unlike the City and County. On the County level no one will even mention the staggering multi-million dollar losses at the County Home. The City's assessment rolls and resale prices keep crashing with total silence from the one party Democrats who term it a "renaissance".

John Mootooveren was fired not on leave to campaign. He continued to lie about his employer, his age and his accounting credentials. According to Councilman Carl Erickson it is alright to lie if running for only a part time post. In any other City he would not allowed to take office under false pretenses and the fourth place finisher Joe Lazzari seated. Where is the City Attorney on this debacle?

Too bad this information wasn't made public before the election. The Schenectady County Democratic Committee is out of control, unable to find qualified candidates and is on its way out. Until City voters wake up and throw out the one party tax lovers nothing will improve.

Norman Perazzo- Local Democrats are not truthful about anything. Since they can't run on their horrible taxing records they lie about the opponents-whether they are still in the State or not. The City Council slime sheet was only the tip of the iceberg. More on the election of 2013 is coming out and it ain't pretty.

More hungry, more jamming the SICM food pantry, all students on free lunch, record City foreclosures. But the Schenectady incumbents keeping screaming Renaissance. Where?

A "holiday" parade with Santa Claus and a Roaring 20's theme? Only in Schenectady. There haven't been 10,000 people since Proctor's moved it from Black Friday. Since there is no Christmas/Holiday shopping nor stores Downtown it can be at any random date.

From: Gazette Holiday Parade a roaring good time for all

The casinos will go where Governor Cuomo wants them to go. Saratoga is the only locality that can properly handle a major casino. If more cared they would have shown up at the polls. We already know about the State of New York and it ain't good. Fewer and fewer making all the decisions.

More pie in the sky for Schenectady which refuses to cut salaries, consolidate services nor close useless departments. City Hall will strike out again because the State has had enough.

A great idea and something that Niskayuna used to do. With no County Charter School option this is vital to many City parents stuck in a failing, dangerous school system.
