About time. Ms. Lewis is being kind about the fiscal mismanagement in City Hall. Maybe if McCarthy cut spending and taxes across the board he wouldn't be in such dire straits.

How long are they going to chew on this? Every national educational expert recommends K-8 neighborhood schools. Oneida is the one school that could be sold to Ellis Hospital and relieve oppressed City homeowners. All the others will remain vacant and have no value. Hybrid makes no sense. Kids need routine not K-2 schools, Citywide Kindergarten nor changing policies every two years.

The City never follows its own rules. Look at the asphalt in the bricking at Dean and Union. City Hall and failed Mayor McCarthy are doing everything they can to destroy City resale values and put more property on an already flooded market.

There is no need to close any schools. As Niskyboy correctly stated remove some of the bloated overpaid administration and slash busing. Let's see more kids walking to school. Plenty of frills totally unrelated to their educational mission. We sent a responding message. Too bad it's already being confused.

Another income generation gimmick. Will be ignored like building permits, dog licenses and garage sale permits. Try focusing on belt tightening.

You're too easily impressed. Things are so bad the City has to borrow $3 million to knock down all the abandoned homes. The State Comptroller and Moody's are not so easily fooled. Guess if you fire the truth tellers in Finance things can appear better.

The taxpayers gave a responding NO to the big spenders in the Niskayuna School District. They need to cut the pork out of this budget and keep Van Antwerp open. More For Sale signs sprouting up in town everyday between the outrageous County/Town and School taxes. Hopefully we will soon see some major changes in the big spending Town Board.

Great editorial. The other side of the lake is already an overdeveloped mess. Local residents need public lake front access. This is a no brainer that must be done. Global foundries has cost taxpayers much more than it has produced.

Richard Alvarez,

Another low information City voter. An enemies list, misuse of domestic wiretaps, abuse of the first amendment, IRS corruption and lying about the Benghazi massacre that killed 4 Americans is okay? Shame on you. Stop being such a partisan fool. In Watergate no one died. No wonder Schenectady has the worst all Democratic elected officials in the State.

Don't worry. Ed Kosiur understands the "importance of high taxes". Too bad no fiscal Conservative ran.
