There is a very simple solution to this nonsense.......TERM LIMITS!!!!!

I also agree. There HAS to be a more equitable way to finance these programs because it's obvious the powers that be are not going to do away with, or seriously limit them. The home owners are shouldering the lions share of the funding and I'm betting the lions share of the benefits go to NON homeowners. I know it seems like a terrible idea but why not explore the funding aspects of a sales tax or an income tax to spread these expenses out over the ENTIRE population. At least that way, those that can afford to spend can contribute whether they are home owners or not. Lower the property taxes and watch our communities grow. When I bought my first home in 1977, my total property taxes were $330 p/ year, including school. Now they exceed $6,000, and I have no more services than I had back then. The system is broken and needs to be re-evaluated and repaired. I'm nearing retirement and am not sure I will be able to afford to remain in New York, in my home.

There has to be a better formula for campaign financing that all can agree on. I can't believe the money spent on this election. For crying out loud, the local senate race spent $5 between them. The way it is, those with the most money have the best chance of a win. There needs to be some sort of equality of spending......and then term limits.

Yup, New York is a place where our differences are celebrated, according to Governor Cuomo, UNLESS you happen to be a Republican, a Conservative, or disagree with his policies....

I have to question WHY the bidders for the 4 new casino venues have to reserve 2% of their slot revenue to protect the Racino purses......This is ALL private enterprise, why do they get to enjoy profit protection from competition? My small business has new competition on a regular basis....I'm on my own, as they should be!

Shouldn't our tax dollars be spent with a NYS company?
