Once the fact was established that he was the owner of the house, the police officer should have tried to assist him...not arrest him.By the way, when are we going to hear about racial profiling with the police do or have done when they confront Purple, green and orange & white striped people acting like they breaking in their homes with keys or for speeding in a no fly zone ?? How come we never hear about that sorta of overt racism ?? Gee did our grand parents raise us all to be bigoted,or so prejudicial that if a Chinese-Polish American Hussite singing The national Anthem of Canada moved into the neighborhood, everyone would avoid him/her as if they had leprosy ? i don't think so...But I'm a wasp...who grew up on the streets...what would I know ?

gee if I was a sex offender of any class, i'd be very very thankful that i wasn't living in Old Testement times. As I'd never have to worry about where I'd get or was permited to live. See People then would have a party for me...A Rock Party...But back then people weren't too sophisticaded, educated, and never mis understood or ever got politically correct when it came to a simple thing as " Thou Shalt NOT!!! And there was "equal Justice" under the law back then too...But we have evolved to where we are more open, more tolerant than those uneducated, uninformed, and unenlighted people were back then huh ? But some how even now when grandma tells us NO, we look at her as if she is the dumbest rock in the pile. My how our ideas & ideals have changed!

It is a sad commentary, that a beautify City as Schenectady is, it has some even sadder leadership in and of the Police Department. i am NOT saying that those 7 officers were or poor candidates when they first applied. But from the time they applied, trained, and went to work for the City, someone along the way dropped the ball as those officers progressed in their time on the department. Now grant you due to past abuses, the need for employment protection by not only for the police & fire departments, but other levels and city agencies as well have been shown to be sadly needed. but on the flip side of the coin, when a police officer who took an oath not only to protect and to defend the people of the community, but by talking that oath, they also via "implied consent" agreed to live a life that should be above and beyond the " normal" societal norms. But even public safety personnel underneath the uniform they wear are flawed human beings as we all are. But to deny the People, the tax payers of the community needs of professional protection far out weigh & ought to take precedence over those officer or any public official.yes there was and is a " due" process system in place...and as we saw & read it is working. But did it do it's job in seeing that the people of Schenectady got and maintains a professional police protection ? Only you the people of the community can and should have the final say. Each of you who vote, can and replace each person in city hall, at the statehouse, but until you the voters physically change the system of how things are done, all you will find yourselves doing is getting to take yet another ride to no where...I don't envy you, the citizens of Schenectady, because even where i live...we too somewhere in the dark abyss of dirty little secrets of city government...have had our problems too, for all to see, via this wonderful form of media...the internet...Have a safe week end.
