It's funny--I read your column immediately after dumping half a container of salad dressing in my lap! Days really can be that bad. :)
My favorite books as a small child were the Richard Scarry ones--I always loved looking for Lowly Worm. In elementary school, I loved the Little House on the Prairie series. My mom even made me a sunbonnet that I insisted on wearing all the time...not much of a dork, was I?
Also, "Quinceanera" sounds a little bit like "Real Women Have Curves"--also realistic, entertaining, and heart warming. It's America Ferrara's first film role, I think.
WALL-E may be my new favorite movie, edging out Nemo by a little bit. I laughed, I cried, and yes, Pixar can really make you feel for a little metal box and a shiny oval. Best scene? Cockroach in the Twinkie.
My favorite beer in the whole wide world was a mistake at the Redhook Brewery in Portsmouth, NH. Apparently some guy pushed the wrong button and Piper was born! A nice dark on the sweeter side beer. Alas, they only sold it that one summer. My second favorite beer is Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA. Hard to find, but worth the search!
Bands I can no longer listen to: REM, Hootie and the Blowfish (WHAT was I thinking?) Band I fell into and out of and back into love with: Indigo Girls Never tired of: Billy Joel
Talk about synchronicity--my weekend project was to clean out the storage bins under my bed (the things a new mattress will inspire you to do!). My weakness is tshirts--I found 14 year old tshirts under there. I can't part with them. They have names and dates and events I don't want to forget...my newest idea is somehow to make a quilt out of them. Any ideas?
