Better effort for Union tonight, penalties aside. At this point however, they can't compete with elite teams and Princeton is an elite team, at least in the ECACHL.
I don't think college and professional hockey are necessarily a good mesh. I have no proof, but I have a feeling there is little overlap between local ECAC hockey fans and Rats fans. How many combined college football and NFL shows do you see? That being said, I think the Rats do deserve coverage but should have their own show.
A completely uninspired effort by Union. They are playing with a degree of inconsistency which will keep them in the lower level of the ECAC unless they turn things around quickly. Of course they started similarly last year and did in fact get it going.
I agree, that Union was fortunate to win last night. They will have to sustain maximum effort next week with Harvard and Dartmouth coming in, 2 teams that have always given them trouble.
Other than Zajac and Milan's performances I thought Union was very flat last night. If they play like that tonight they'll be taking home the second place trophy.
Hope for the future and that invevitable first playoff series win seems well founded. Congratulations to the coaches and players...best wishes and thanks to the seniors for laying the cornerstone.
I saw Luke Cain Saturday night at the game and he was off his crutches. If comes back at full strength things could really be looking up next year.
Great job on the season, Ken, looking forward to more in the off season and next season.
I would sit Coyle also. It's not as if he's been contributing on offense. Give Christiansen a shot. Walter's penalty also seemed uncalled for and was potentially dangerous.
I for one am glad that Murph will be back on the air. I have always found him to be thoughtful and professional and am looking forward to more of the same.
