The only reason why kids get stresed out is becuase parents/teachers stress them about it. I have never received so much literature about the state tests beore-printed by the way and I thought we were cutting expenses. The tests do not reflect on the student more on the teachers/curriculum being taught. This test is a measuring device for that. In the real world you are tested and evluated - Then assessments can be made that lead to change. I do not agree about keeping little Johnny and Janey home away from the big bad test. There are better ways to express dissaproveal without violating the law.

Closing schools, combining classes, cutting teachers and curriculum is not the answer. Look at the top and cut administrative services and BENEFITS, outsources non essential services, to cut costs. We taxppayers did not move to this district and pay the taxes we pay to have combined classes, elementary classes with 30 students and curriculum cuts. An 800,000 savings is not the answer, if the school will have to be re opened in years.

Things are indeed changing, and we are all being given the opportunity to lesson our blow on the ecosystem. Unfortunately, members and oundantz for the tea party have dubbed this shift in focus toward the environment as being some sort of liberally biased conspiracy meant to mislead to public. China has indeed been a large contributing factor to the pollution issue. We ship our garbage there in fact, and a large portion of exports from China are come to the US because of capitalism... a notion the tea party readily supports. We can not regulate what occurs in China... yet the Romneys of the wprld refuse to admit Global Warming is an issue, sent those jobs and production lines overseas, accept pollution as a minrr nuisance, and run on the platform that as long as we all just get taxed less and can spend more, magically evergreen ng gets better. It is a tea psrty and republican specific mentality that anyhing scientific must be inored.
If you expect me to listen to anything you have to say as far as the theory of evolution goes, drop the religion. Its a tired argument. I do believe that some concepts are too deep to ever be explained by science. Obviously a miracle occured that sparked the beginning of life in our universe. If you choose to call it God and your brain capacity is too small to comprehend that whatever created us isn't some guy among the clouds we read about as kids in religion class, then I completely forgive you for your complete lack of rational thought and argument; it must be a learning disability. Even Einstein acknowledged the presence of a God, as have several scientists. And drop the liberal democrat agenda bs. Its just annoying and makes it look like you have nothing to back up your stance... maybe its just Romnesia... or that attitude elders sometimes get when they realize their aftual impact on the world is nil and they refuse to see life improve at the hands of educated individuals who have been able to adapt to the changing times.

I'm not sure who you are but I've read your inaccuracies too often to allow them to continue. First, I would like to clarify that if you had actually stepped foot into a classroom teaching modern science as opposed towhatever archaic curriculum you were being fed pre-genetics, you would be well informed that evolution is NOT a theory, althought theories of evolution do exist in fat according to the National Institute of Science, evolution with modification is the most widely accepted concept in science as a whole, so lets take a step in to modern times with that quick lesson in science. Indeed, theories of evolution do still exist, including Darwin's theory, but they are imperfected and based on ideas, not facts and thus have no standing in science beyond guiding us to more recent discovery. Also, again, take a class on biology specific to environmental science, or get information on global warming from somewhere otherthan short sighted online research catering to people who approach our environment with the sane notion that got us into this mess in the first place "if it doesn't affect me day to day then it can't be real". It bothers me, and it bothers my generation that our elders aren't taking this more seriously. Regardless of whether or not global warming is a concrete fact, it is unmistakable that carbon dioxide, out of control use of fossil fuels and general disregard for our environment is causing severe issues. Birth control horomones are being discovered in municipal water sources, acid rain is killing lakes in our own park system, and our area has seen more devistation in recent years than has ever been recording. Whatever the cause, and whether the theory of global warming as I will call it out of fairness is correct, something is changing, and narrowminded shortsightedness for the sake of being "right" and standing up for the policies of the tea party for the sake of political alignment with conservative mentality. It will ruin us if you refuse to accept new information and refuse to evolve your views.

The City of Schenectady has a mere $75,000 in savings for an entire city. My household has more money in savings in that. What is wrong with this picture? Gross mismanagement of funds for several years has brought this city to the brink. This is truly disgusting.

I would hope Ms. Salvaggio would forego a raise she just started with the district.
