I am more concerned about my prescription history being available on-line to all doctors, pharmacists and especially law enforcement. Seems another way to use the information to take away more constitutional rights. Sounds kind of fishy to me.

In 2009 all 50 states and Puerto Rico went to the .08 BAC level and we still have over 30% of fatal accidents caused by drunk drivers, most of which have a BAC of over double the .08 level. How is dropping the level to .05 going to reduce the number of alcohol related deaths? And just because other countries have done it and seen a reduction doesn't mean it will work in the US. We drive bigger cars and trucks and a lot of us live in rural areas while working in the city. Most alcohol related accidents are in the early morning hours and a lot of the deaths are caused by teenage drivers.

Maybe, as in all things, we should try enforcing current laws instead of making new laws that would have little or no effect on the problem.

What exactly does Ms. McKeon's story have to do with the proposed law? She was prescribed the drug legally for pain and then 4 years later gets hooked on it because why? She was having trouble in her life and started using the drug for other than what it was designed for. The law would not have had any effect on her situation. Sound familiar?

I think the evidence speaks for itself. There is even a recorded 911 call where the caller states a man is pointing a gun at him. Had the cop showed his badge and not his gun, there probably wouldn't have been a problem. Nooo, after the guy calls 911, the cop jumps back in his car and speeds off. The guys follow him while still on the phone with 911 and the dispatcher tells them to stop following him and go to the police station. Then the Glenville police have to call the officer into he station to ask him what happened?

I can agree wth your complaints about the proposed school budget. I am tired of paying out the nose for over inflated retirement deals for those working in our school system. Maybe you should take a look at who really runs the Board of Education and quit believing the lies of the Democrats when they tell you all the terrible things the GOP wants to do to you. None of the ideas the GOP have put forth regarding Social Security would affect you or anyone over 55.

In his budget, the President himself has proposed a cut in the way cost of living increases for SS in the future would be calculated, leaving you with less money to deal with inflation. It is Obamacare that took $750 billion dollars from Medicare to help fund the law. In other words, because of the Democrats, you are going to pay about $90 more a month for your medicare coverages. Not to mention you could be looking for a new doctor because he/she may refuse to accept Medicare payments because he/she can no longer afford to accept those payments without going bankrupt.

Try flicking your TV over to Fox News once in a while and get both sides of the story. You would be surprised how fair and balanced they really are, and how many stories they cover that the "main stream media" refuse to cover because it might make Obama look bad. At the very least, question and investigate what you hear from both sides of the aisle.

I am a law abiding citizen of this State and don’t appreciate being called an extremist. The real extremist here is Governor Cuomo. He used false claims of extreme necessity to push this law through without allowing the mandatory three days for reading and comment by both the legislature and the public. He claims they were working on this bill for months prior to the Newtown, CT incident. If that were the case they wouldn’t have had to make amendments to it after it was passed. How do you work on a bill for months that bans the sale of certain weapons that most or all law enforcement officials use without making sure they are exempt from the law?

The law is unclear in how it helps keep our school children safer and has already been improperly enforced by taking the guns away from someone who had to take a valium at one time because he had a phobia about needles. Sure, the State Police apologized for their mistake but did they pay for the attorney he had to hire to get his weapons back?

No, the station that carried the Mets rolled over to the Red Sox last year. There was a station in Glens Falls that broadcasted the Mets games last year but you couldn't pick it up south of Clifton Park. If I am out and about during a game and want to listen to it, I either have to listen on my cell or Sirius/XM in my car. I am a die hard Mets fan and it is a shame that you can't even find Mets' gear most of the time in the local Target or Wal-Mart.
