How come nobody checks what Mr. Olsen was saying against the adopted budget that the City has on their website. He stated during the committee meeting that he has an assistant supervisor that is 100% supervising trash collection and that he doesn't have anyone else to assist that employee. But according to the City's budget, there are 3 assistant solid waste supervisors, a solid waste supervisor, and a senior solid waste supervisor. How is it possible that only one employee is supervising trash collection and needs a 40% increase in pay.

If the city is trying to encourage everyone to quit smoking, then why isn't City Hall a smoke free zone. Anyone that has to go to City Hall for anything knows that at any given time you have to walk through a cloud of smoke just to get into the building from everyone standing outside the doors smoking.

So the gist of the story is that Schenectady doesn't have homes that meet everyone's needs and if you do happen to own a house in the City then good luck selling it no matter what neighborhood it's in and how well maintained it is. The Mayor wants to selectively enforce the residency law because the only way he can try to get anyone to buy a house in the City is to force them to by threatening their jobs. If the City is everything they keep saying it is then everyone would already live in the City and not be moving out, including a current city council member.

Mr. Anderson, New York State has had a law in place for years that limits the magazine capacity for hunting to a maximum of 5 rounds. The Governor also should have known this when he made the comment saying that no one needs 10 rounds to kill a deer but played everyone's lack of knowledge of the laws we already have in place against law-abiding gun owners.
