Great coverage as usual, I am lucky to be able to make the trip Wed., thanks to another loyal fan, as we sat Sunday at practice to watch what little was left of practice, it was comforting to see other fans. Hockey is more than just a game to some of us. As I saw the out pouring of support for the players from all over it was overwhelming to see. Which that is Hockey. More like a family. Because that is what it takes for these players to make it. I think the arena should be really doing a celebration that we have our players and staff with us. I don't even care if they make the play-offs, it should look like we won the Caulder Cup and celebrate. it should be flooded with Red and White, posters ect. even putting up comments or cards received for the players.
I am glad that despite the injuries that no one died, that crash was horrific and may next time lead to staying put the night when you don't have a game to get to.
It is wonderful that the story is being covered all over people have asked me from different places how the players are doing. Local media (present company excluded) which hardly ever gives us this much coverage on the Rats, too bad it took something like this to get coverage for the team.
We know the game Friday is rescheduled, I hope that the play on Sunday, but if they do cancel the autograph session.
Was such a great game especially when they won in over time. The Rats will have a bit of fun with the Booster Club as well as fund raising for the Ronald McDonald House at 2 PM Sun. At Redwood Lanes. Off Central Ave.
I was at the autograph session and asked about LaCouture, the staff said he was being checked out for possible concussion. I did not see anything in the game did you? is OK and going to play on Wed?
I was down in Carolina for practice on Friday, it was a great chance to really see the difference between the levels of play. Looking forward to see hockey this year
Looking forward to some new changes. Boy I am feeling a bit old when the coach is going to be younger than me;). I just hope the players are able to be in the community I know Coach Rowe was not a big fan of that. This has been the best hockey that the Rats have provided in the past years. At least you got the information correct. Please if you see the Channel 10 broadcasters you teach them to pronounce the Vezina Cup and that Coach Rowe has only been with the Albany River Rats for 2 years and not 4 as reported last night
It seems that the only way the Phantoms scored against us was on the 5/3 power play and empty net. And then tonight there only goal was with a power play but we came back to score again.
This is one of the reasons this area doesn't have a larger hockey audience. The Rats were lucky to get the coverage from the TV media that they did. They usually say the score an once in a while they have an interview. And also if you are watching a game and it goes longer heaven forbid you forgot to extend the time on your dvr.
Love the blog and the other things you gives us the 411 on. That is what makes hockey so different than most sports. About the heckling when we were there for a booster club bus trip. This Phantom fan spent so much time telling us how bad we were and we lost and were losers, he actually lost the 3 year old child that was with him.
