I wonder if the hospital staff has nicknamed the baby "Jesus"? Seriously, I hope this newborn can bring some happiness to a couple that is unable to have children and are able to give it a good life.

Every time a holiday comes up, we get this message from law enforcement. They try to impress us the number of speeding and other violations cited during the previous year. I have to question if the the number of traffic tickets issued during the length of the time period is much different than in a non-holiday period. But I do agree that people should adhere to the vehicle and traffic laws in place.

Don't get in an argument and jump on someone's car. Pure stupidity on the part of Mr. Eddy.

bitjockey I did not try to compare the casinos with technology. I was looking at business in general. Did you need to be so picky about durothon vs durathon?

Quirky and Durothon turned out to be big flops. I wonder if the next thing to be a big flop, be it locally and statewide; All of these casinos. Promises of construction jobs which be short term, and "permanent" jobs in the casinos. There is only so much gambling money to go around. Lago says 1800 jobs, really??? Something more that has been hyped??? While this is not a technology operation, this could come up short, too.

Another Andrew publicity gimmick! How many of these 10,000 would get to $15 in the next 3 to 6 years anyway? Those that are bargaining would surely get it, as would most non-bargaining employees. How close are they to $15 are they to begin with?

I would think that this team would be used to transport prisoners to non-emergency medical appointments, also.

Years ago, there was public service announcements on TV that said " To get a good job( and presumably a good wage), get a good education. It should be remembered that fast food and many other retail establishments we meant to be "starter jobs". They were not meant to be long term career jobs unless you become a manager. Now the Governor and others want to force employers to pay more what is unskilled labor. It will cause much higher prices across the board and these workers will find they have no more buying power in the end.
