WPTR 1240 has very limited coverage, especially at night. Look for Empire to add another station and simulcast to get better coverage in Albany and Troy.

While it is unfortunate that good jobs have been lost here, it is important to note that private sector employers are willing to make tough choices that the public sector just will not make, and they(public sector) will bow to political pressure.

I Don't think individual school districts should be deciding this. There should be a uniform state law.

Is there any way this action by the board could be ruled invalid in that proper procedures were not followed?

It has been reported that a Fulton County sheriff's officer threatened reporters telling them if they did not move fast enough or took any pictures that they would be arrested. It would appear that they were close to the command post, apparently not that close to the crash debris, and were told to go some distance away. Apparently, no "police line" with tape was in place so no "zone" was defined. The attitude of this officer appears to be unprofessional at best. It appears that 2 people died on impact and the reporters could do little if any harm. Remember, the police agencies run to the press to ask for help to solve a case from the general public. The press should be respected by police as they themselves would like to be.

Does the Governors office have to save the day by announcing this? Shouldn't this have been a simple press release from DOT?

danny boy, it is not the case of hurting people, it is trying to get the tway so it does not lose money, you do not know what a dollar is. I would agree with you if you said management positions should have also been cut.The private sector makes these tough decisions every day.
