I have to question the need for a Wal-Mart in Ballston Spa when their are 4 others within 25 minutes. Amsterdam, Halfmoon, Glenville and Wilton. There are also Targets in those same locations. For groceries there are Price Choppers in Malta and on Ballston Ave. in Saratoga Sprs that are close by, Also Hannaford in Geyser Crest and in Round Lk. Those like myself would be glad to have these services available that close. One other thing, Wal-Mart is sneeky. They have agreed to build a smaller store than they originally wanted, and set aside 50,000 square feet for groceries. Just watch, once built, they will apply to build another separate free standing store, move the groceries into that, and put more general merchandise in the original store. They will get their own way a little differently.

Why is it so many of these law enforcement officers are finding themselves on the wrong side of the law, seemingly everywhere? In the Saratoga county sheriffs department alone there has been this incident along with two others in the last year or so, One of which a deputy vandalized a car in a domestic dispute and another where a deputy was driving a drug dealer around. The state police have had their share including DWI's and the recent incident in Clinton county where a trooper was driving recklessly crossed in front of a car carrying a mother and two children and in the process killing the mother. The son of the Rennselaer police chief also a police officer, a DWI accident where someone died as a result. The Schenectady police department went through a costly series of legal procedures to fire at least 3 cops for misconduct. The Albany police department has also fired a few bad officers for violations. And the list goes on. These officers are suppose to uphold the law not break it.

I have to ask the question; Why do they need another Wal-Mart in B.S. when there are 4 Wal-Mart stores of at least one of which is less than 30 minutes from wherever you may live in the B.S. area. Stores located in Amsterdam, Clifton Park, Glenville and Wilton. There are many people live in much more rural areas, the adirondacks in particular that would be thrilled to have a Wal-Mart or other retailers that close to them.

Put a full signal there that would change with pushing a button by those trying to use the crosswalk.

Senator Farley, who is about 82 should have stepped aside. The longer he serves, the more likely he will not be able to complete his term. Gov. Cuomo has not been declaring vacancies in our legislature to the point where there are a total of 11 districts without representation. So if Farley should not be able to complete his term, the people of his district probably would not be represented for a time. This could be a way of shifting control of the senate as well. I for one would hate to see one party controlling both houses and the governors office. Look what we got when it happened on the federal level. The mess we call "Obama Care" just for starters.

I seem to recall a similar incident from several years ago that occurred in the capital district. While I do not remember all of the details from back then, I do remember that the victims from that incident ran a Chinese take out establishment. The people with this most recent incident also are said to have had family connections with a Chinese restaurant and helped out some. One of the things that was revealed from the incident from years ago is that Chinese people generally do not trust banks and keep huge sums of money in their homes. While reports have surfaced about gambling, one has to wonder if robbery was the ultimate motive.

Will this amount to what might be called "reverse discrimination"?

The Applicant obviously did not have the resources and knowledge necessary to go forward with a casino. Their actions have shown an obvious weakness which only reveals that they would be incapable of operating such a facility if it were built.
