The republicans and democrats should get together and settle upon someone. Seeing that the Democrats have a 2/3 majority, it will end up being a democrat. The Repubicans's could help get Silver out of there.

Thats too much money and too ambitious of a project. While some money allocated is fine, perhaps a quarter of that, there should be more private money going in with it. There are numerous other state and local projects that this money should be carefully divided up for that are more needed. This $5B should not be used by politicians to buy votes.

Everyone has got their hand out for the 5 Billion dollar distribution. The road construction lobby, schools, etc. Education gets enough, the more you give them, the more they waste. Pre-K should be funded primarily by the parents who send there kids to it. There are other agencies that could use some funding. How about body cams for law enforcement? Updates to information(computers) systems? re-open the closed down restrooms on the interstates? Some funding towards the new Tappan Zee bridge? How about putting a portion of these funds in reserve for disasters whether it be from terrorism, weather, or earthquakes?

My understanding is that if you are offered less than 80% of what you are making, you don't have to take it and you can get unemployment benefits while you look for something else.

My dad was a forest ranger for NYSDEC. He was the liason with the US forest service coordinating the sending of forest rangers out west to fight wildfires. Gov. Mario Cuomo honored the fire fighters in a gathering in Albany many years ago. My dad as lead person in the group got to present to Gov. Cuomo a fire jacket with "CUOMO" printed on it. Gov. Cuomo told my dad that " he would wear it when the legislature was giving the heat over the budget." He had quite a sense of humor.

I wonder if the siting commission looked at the support from other communities in exchange for revenue sharing was a form of bribery? The decision was supposed to be based on merits, and should not be a popularity contest which what sore loser Dwyer wanted it to be.

You had to know it was going to happen. There was bound to be at least one sore loser. Mr. Mayor, with all due respect, your actions are disgusting. Don't try to politicize this. You lost, get over it.

I can not see how this market or most any market can support 4 sports stations. The fittest will survive. Both WZMR and WTMM are FM stations which are not prone to the noise and night time interference that AM stations get. Especially WPTR which is on 1240, a "local" channel,(1000 watts) where night time propagation from numerous other stations on 1240 make WPTR unlistenable more than 7 or 8 miles from its transmitter adjacent to the Rotterdam Square mall. Empire might do well to have their 900 AM in Albany simulcast with it to get some Albany coverage especially at night. WOFX(5000 watts) also an AM can get co-channel interference.

This offer of a joint investigation between N. Korea and the U.S. is the biggest joke since O.J. Simpson wanted to help in the investigation to find Nicole's killer.

So there were 3 winners and 13 losers. A year or two after they open, we may say that there were 13 winners and 3 losers, if whats happening to Casinos in Vegas, Atlantic city and in Maryland are any indicator.
I have to ask what made the commission decide on Schenectady? Perhaps they did not like the agreements the Rennselaer site made with Albany about money? Perhaps logistics?
