This just KILLS me.......Because we are not a "low-income" family my child can not apply to the program....However, she continues to struggle to find a job because most of the jobs for 16 and 17 year olds are now taken by unemployed 40 year olds. Once again....If you are deemed underprivileged or low-income NYS will hand you what you need on a silver platter..........Including a job now - That probably will only help subsidize mom's welfare check!!!

Carl your numbers are wacky I worked 21 years as a cop retired at 60,000 and got a pension of 29,000 I now work for the state in an unrelated job and get less than half of that 29,000 because of prohibition of double dipping. I wont get another pension from state. Iam grateful for what i got but it burns me when people think cops are on the gravy train when Iam pulling in 13,000 a year and my situation is the norm not the one you illustrate.

I agree we should pull back but I don't agree with the President's plan. He should listen to the Generals on the ground.

From: Do you agree with the president's plan to pull 10,000 troops from Afghanistan by December and another 23,000 by the end of next summer?

It's a high profile case- so win at any cost for the feds. They already spent millions on a case that was a loser so what's a million or so more? Sad!
