Rotterdam approaching 1,000 arrests for the year......and that is 1,000 separate arrests, not 200 arrests with 5 charges lumped on. Rotterdam by far is the busiest Town , police call wise in the county. Schenectady is 10 times busier than Roterdam and Roterdam is busier than Glenville, Niskayuna, Scotia, and the Sheriffs Dept. Combined

Schenectady could NOT function without the police department. People call the police to control their 4 year old that won't brush their teeth. Police/fire/EMS deserve more money in the city of Schenectady! No one even has the slightest clue what life is like in the city on a day to day basis.

cfield: your idea makes all too much sense, except they would rather punish law abiding citizens that own firearms.

Someone should check Jewels at the Rotterdam Square Mall. However, I do agree with you Fritzdawg!

The problem is that the Department allows the Gazette to dictate discipline and policy. There is NO VIOLATION OF THE LAW. Chaires and McCarthy should tell this rag of a paper to go scratch. Unfortunately, EVERY time Kathleen Moore writes an article it elicits a response from the Department. Why not just say "these officers did nothing wrong, we have no further comment."

Wow... Guys like to look at breasts, I had no idea! Slow news day in Schenectady? Good lord. We are scraping the barrel for "news". This paper is a joke. Pander to the cop haters... Is this 1950? Are we all of a sudden Puritans? "Oh no, those men are objectifying women! We have to report it!" Nevermind that the money those men spent ON THEIR OWN TIME put food on teh table for the dancers, or put presents under the tree. Kathleen Moore is the first to bash the cops for watching strippers but I bet she'd be the first to stand up for the stripper's right to make a living. Hypocrite much?
