Perfectly healthy, but slow, racehorses are also sent of slaughter. I spent last weekend at a show jumping clinic with my friend and her lovely OTTB that was pulled from a kill lot. It is great to see the industry take responsibility for the horses when they retire. I hope the New York State Task Force on Retired Race Horses sets the model for other states and other breed groups to follow. Carole
