Ok, let me first address the blog. I was quite amused by your story for many reasons. First and foremost, I must say your blog was somewhat neutral...until the end. I was a bit perplexed when I saw that your stop involving the motor vehicle complaint left a "bad taste in your mouth." The officer not only let you off with a warning, he escorted you to your destination. That was quite professional of him or her. Secondly, we don't go around looking for reasons to harass, or stop someone. We sometimes, believe it or not, get dispatched to wierd, unorthodox calls that we are sometimes embarassed to even repeat to anyone. We have a job to do. If we stop the wrong person, or stop you for the wrong reason, we might escort you to your destination if you are lost or confused.

As for the comments from the gentleman above, the police are people, just like you. Some retired law enforcement friends that I know, actually look just you described yourself and ride Harleys. This doesn't change my perception of them and certainly never will. I can't speak for everyone, but I can tell you that most of "us" in the law enforcement community don't profile because it is illegal and unjust. There are actually reasons, logical, lawful reasons why officers do things. Not every complaint, no matter how aggregious it may seem, will warrant an article, or even a blurb in the paper. A local police department will notify the press with a press release if they deem it necessary.

One last thing...we are in a nation where we expect...EXPECT to be free and safe from harm. Well, in this nation, we ARE protected by many facets of law enforcement that proudly serve in our communities to keep everyone safe, including their own families.

Let me make a reference. Many years ago in Oklahoma City a bombing occurred that killed many people and destroyed an entire building. The man reasponsible was Timothy McVeigh, a psychotic man who was clean cut without a ZZ Top beard. McVeigh walked from the Ryder truck he had parked in front of the doomed building which was full of explosives. McVeigh walked out of sight and away from the blast. Do you want to know how he was caught? A police officer stopped the vehicle he was driving without a license plate. Maybe the lack of a license plate could be replaced as a plate light...? Perhaps, this police officer stopped another massive terrorist like attack and saved his own life when he noticed a gun McVeigh had under his jacket. McVeigh was arrested and later found to be the bomber.

...Please, think of these things before you go passing judgment. Perhaps, a thank you is deserving for that officer who escorted you home.

I certainly would be able to comprise my own top ten list of favorite albums, bands or songs for that matter. However, being what I consider as somewhat of a music connoisseur, it would take me days or maybe even a week to come up with a top one hundred list and then work my way down from there. I am sad to say, however, that some of your choices are foreign to me. I have never heard most of the songs or even heard of the bands themselves which you listed. I think this is why I added the word "somewhat" in front of the word connoisseur. I am not ashamed to admit that either. You certainly have a unique taste in music. I love U2, and do have a liking for Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins and one of my favorites, Pearl Jam. As a matter of fact, Ten would probably fall in my top 10 favorite albums list...there is a start. Led Zeppelin is more likely to fall into the number one slot however. Which album you ask??? Well...take your pick.

Personally speaking from a law enforcement perspective, the Burress shooting was drug or gang related. I know what they say, "when you assume, you make an ass out of you and me." But, let's be honest. Sara, very well put...what is a millionare, famous athlete doing in a dingy NY dive with a weapon that was designed to conceal in a jacket and have the trajectory to blow guts from here to India (God bless them in Mumbai).

So, then Burress asks, or so I assume, the doctor not to divulge any information regarding the shooting. Hmm...sounds normal to me...yaaaaaa right.

And for the record, this has nothing to do with Burress' race, as some of you bloggers may ASSUME. I thought that I should clarify that.

Oh, and Sara, no offense or anything, but Eli Manning may be in contention for one of the stupidest looking guys ever...he always has that "huh? who, me?" look on his face. Just a mere observation...

I wanted to share this with you, especially after four years at Franklin Pierce. I have played a few games of beer pong in my college tenure, or Beruit as it is also commonly called. I learned a new and innovative fix to the water cup that is used to clean the ball after it falls on the floor. College floors are disgusting, at least from what I remember. Some students NEVER cleaned their floor that stay laiden in stale beer, miscellaneous food and dust. The fix is simple and isn't that amazing. But, nonetheless, I never thought of this and neither did anyone else. I heard about it while working a football game detail at UNH last weekend. I guess its been invented if the drink of your choice is kept aside, fill their Solo cups with water and drink when the other team gets the ball in on your set of cups; thus the dirty ping pong ball never enters the drinking cup containing your alcoholic beverage of choice. The water in all the playing cups keeps the cups from spilling or falling over. Interesting...ehh???

Nice blog. I am famous!...well, as famous as the song Ice Ice Baby, which IS awful. My choice for "busting a move" is typically "It Takes Two" By Rob Base and DJ Rock, as well as "Billie Jean" by MJ. I guess, depending on the person, these songs would arguably be the worst songs ever also. However, Ice Ice Baby takes the cake for worst ever. He did come to FPC in Rindge for Spring Weekend. Now, he is even worse and has changed his genre from Rap to Hardcore. Blah. Glad you like my foolish display of dancing. Take care and stay in touch. Happy blogging.
