The heating problem is just one of many issues the group has. They knew that when they rented the building about a year a go. They were told that they could not make any modifications to the building when they signed the lease.
The group has no money to co-sponsor anything! The so called director of the museum lied and did not mention that the AHTS did not want anything to do with the Christmas train for that reason.
So yes to answer your question, it IS a lie too!

To begin with, there is NO ALCO Museum located there. The group was forced out of the building that they rented for non-payment of rent. They do not have another building.
I also have heard that the CP train stop was arranged by the Schenectady Floor covering, NOT the ALCO group which never authorized the activity to begin with due to liability issues.
The ALCO Heritage Museum is dying quickly due a number of factors including gross mismanagement.Don't give credit to this group because they nothing to do with the Christmas train coming to Schenectady.

Well, Well, it finally is happening. I have heard from former board members that they are being evicted from the current site because they did not pay rent for the past year. All of the fund raisers they had have been flops and the Board has been involved in fighting matches among themselves. One of the major issues is that most people on the Board do not agree with the museum director on how things are being run.
Since I live in Schenectady, I go by there often and I noticed the signs are all gone and the building there are in is for lease. Its a cold and dirty warehouse with no heat or A/C.
The group is slowly dying. I have heard from members that have left who say they offer almost nothing for the dues they pay. They have not had a newsletter in about a year now. I was told they have fewer members now than they started with in 2009.
Don't waste your time and money with these clowns. People who have visited this building have been disappointed in what they saw for the money they spent on admission. They have clearly screwed up and should disband.

After a dismal attempt of hosting a Gala, I understand that they closer and closer to being tossed out of that cold and damp ware house they call a museum according to a Schenectady resident that I talked to recently.

What a bunch of idiots. They had 5 or 6 so called fundraisers and all of them have been flops.
The director knows nothing about ALCO Locomotives or history and reportedly the board of directors had a fist fight during a meeting.

They very little to show so even waste your time going there.

I feel sorry for that women. She should have given that tank model to some other place. The director of that place does not know the first thing about ALCO, has no background in ALCO History and the alleged museum is in a dirty warehouse with no heat or A/C.
The group is poorly run and is broke and does not know what they are doing.
Every fund raiser has been a flop. Its board members fight constantly at meetings and rumor has it a fist fight broke out in one of them. Its a group that is circling the drain very fast. Don't waste your time with them.

Don't forget that it WAS BUSH who borrowed (and never repayed) Social Security to help fund the war to find those those missing WMD's.
Yes Blame BUSH because when he took office, it was a Democrat who left this country with a surplus. Bush spent it all plus borrowed more against the people of the United States wishes. Note that this is OUR Country, not Bush's.

A good start is to discontinue using Ethanol as a fuel since its robs gas mileage. It has been shown that an average car will gain 2-4 mpg when using straight gasoline.

We don't need a Romney in the White House. He will allow companies to go belly up and ship the jobs overseas like he has done working for Bain Capital.
For a guy who hides his tax returns and wealth, he is the last person this country needs in the White House. He is out of touch with the average Joe in this Country.

Does not matter what year he left. Romney is a snake in the grass and was indeed a active partner until he left 2002. Not as a CEO, but he signed papers which makes him an active partner.
Why won't he show his tax returns for the last 5 years? Its because he hiding the fact that he sent his money to the Cayman Island to avoid paying income taxes. He is being checked out for possible illegal conversion of fees.

The fact is, while CLAIMS he left the Company in 1999, he was still very active as CEO/President until 2005.
Documents filed with SEC with his signature have been located to prove this.
No doubt in many peoples mind that he is a habitual liar.
