I would have been very surprised if such a large complex machine as the new press fired up without a glitch, some will complain, only those who always complain, but not for long. The TU made a huge investment not only in their paper but for print newspapers all over. I wish them luck along with the Gazette, they will need it.

Hmm, I guess living in the county and voluteering for 3 years and having the business degree to run things doesn't matter. However if you are a supporter and don't like who is appointed it is not unjust to stop suporrting the animals who have no say, just a need. Go figure! If dogs read the paper i bet Busy Bones would be the favorite snack to chew on, Politics aside of course.

Only 18.1% of the resedent households of NY own a gun? The study must have only asked 3 people living on Long Island. I don't think I know anyonyone in my entire town that doesn't have at least 2 guns in the home.

There were no strippers at the party, they were dancers. I am sure those boys have seen more scantily clad girls poolside. If anything this is bragging rights and a memory for life, I doubt they will become mass murders because of the pain suffered at the party. They are 16 and can drive a 4000 lb death machine but can't see a thong, sorta like coming back from 2 years in combat but not being able to buy a beer!

John Angilletta has it right about the canal system and politics. The first time we saw there was a major problem a few years ago the moveable dams were not pulled because a "navagable pool" had to be maintained and unfortunatly that navagable pool wound up being Fonda. Anyone who grew up on the river could do a better job than all of Wanna be Pres Andrews cronies. Heavy rain, start pulling gates down stream and go upstream as far as needed. The few boats lost will be far less than the lost homes and property damage avoided.

Oh darn it, I was just thinking about getting together with my neighbors and putting a chain across the Hudson.

I sure hope if that DEC officer ever has need for a fire department that he is more than grateful that they don't charge for their services by sending the fire department a nice donation.

First off they were not strippers, secondly how much of our money was wasted on this investigation? They were dressed although not in winter garb but typical poolside attire that I am sure those boys had seen before. I just can't see how she was endangering the welfare of a minor. I am sure that party will be a high point in the boys adolesence that will be most happily remembered for life by them. Plus the cause of many high fives for days to come but ENDANGER them, I think not unless you are jealous of their good time and want someone to pay because it wasn't you at the party!

Public Housing at it's finest, I don't think he got stabbed over who was going to carry out the trash. Just cruise through at midnight and see how many Lincolns, Lexus's and Caddys are parked in the lots. I'm sure those are the poor folks needing public assistance cars.
