Comparing Contec an Solyandra is comparing apples and oranges. Contec was raided by Bain for its assets and moved out of the country for the gain of a handful of wealthy investors who parked their profits offshore.

Solyndra was a bad/stupid loan, but the money stayed here in the USA and was largely absorbed into the larger economy through vendors and employee wages.

Mitt Romney must be proud.

There are no low performing schools in Schenectady . Teachers in Schenectady have the same credentials, degree and educational background as teachers in Niskayuna or Guilderland.

The problem is low performing parents.

Perhaps you should read deeper than the headline off the wire.

USADA is setup so that one man (Travis Tygart) is investigator, prosecutor, judge and jury. I'm don't know whether Armstrong is guilty or innocent but the man deserves a fair hearing, not a kangaroo court of coerced witnesses.

Being a resident of Niskayuna I'm delighted that Colonie and Clifton Park may finally pay their fair share instead of Niskayuna residents subsidizing them. It has long been a Realtor's selling point in some neighborhoods that you could send your kids to Niskayuna schools but pay substantially less than Niskayuna taxes.

Looking at Matt Phelps Facebook page he likes to pretend to be a thug and rapper. Looks like he has earned the thug part.

Carl, For years I have enjoyed your columns even on the days when they pissed me off! Alas, I now will have to settle for being pissed off just on Sundays.
