Of course she is in many prayers, but as a Mom and NaNa I cannot help but be upset knowing that this innocent child was left home not this one time but repeatedly as verified by neighbors and relatives.

That in itself is upsetting because if this it true, then people just turned their backs on the situation instead of stepping in, either by reporting this neglect or taking Avion into their own home.

Not being judgemental, just being a person who cares about children.

God now has little Avion in his loving hands, where she will have no more pain, shed no more tears.

RIP little one.

Prayers for Avion. I hope that she recovers fully and is not in any pain.

Her "mother" should be prosecuted to the fullest, leaving a child that young home alone. Sadly children this young are left home alone or left out on the streets to play all hours of the night.:(

Mr. Scorsone, what a wonderful young man you are !!! What you did took courage and a wonderful heart. You are an asset to all. I hope everyone knows what a fine person you are. I'm sure your family is soooo proud of you. I KNOW your friends are proud of you.
And glad to hear Mr. Bristol is doing well. What an amazing bond you will share forever.

God Bless the both of you.

Ms. Madonna

Yes people were overjoyed having to stand in line for hours, and then having to go to the Center to wait yet again.

Funny most people I saw were upset at the long line (but wait you were not in the line so how would you know?) And you might have found some people "jovial" because they have to appear that way infront of the board, they are trying to get their VERY high assessments reduced.

Comparing greivance "days" to the dentist, give me a break, at least at the dentist you can sit and read a magazine. Time for a new assessor and completely new review board. The whole process stunk, the assessments way too high to make up for the empty houses in the city, and citizens were treated terribly.

"I am frequently being accosted as being either racist or misinformed"

Judy,
That is awful, and for all you do to help kids who need it. Just know in your heart that you are helping to change lives for the better, and let the comments of the truly misinformed roll off of you.

Again you are right on the mark.
I knew a young man, grew up in a broken home here on the hill. His Mom knew he was dealing and in a gang at a young age, she didn't care as he was bringing in the $$. He ended up in prison, she ended up taking herself to Florida, leaving her precious daughter with me to raise along with my kids, which I actually considered this child my own as she was best friends with my daughter and practically grew up in my house.

But wait the Schenenectady assessor says prices and sales are up in Sch'dy and K. Moore says how sales in Hamilton Hill are also up. Oh yeah , Hamilton Hill is just great with all its empty houses, crime etc. Same goes for Mt. Pleasant. Get rid of the assessor and get someone who knows what they are doing and don't make honest hardworking homeowners get high assessments and higher taxes to pay for this blight.

I agree with packrat. This man is not abusing his cats. Glad the SPCA is working with him, I'm sure with gentle persuasion he will come around and agree to help with the cats.

IF the man and his cats were living in filth, cat feces and urine all around and extreme flea infestation, than it would be a health problem and more drastic measures taken.

But here is a case of someone with a big heart, truly loves his pets, and is taking better care of them then the stray cats I observe that my neighbors dont care for, with litter after litter and I feed them. Can't take them in as I have 5 housecats of my own. Jeez should I say that, might have a group banging down my door.

oSoGB-First sorry to hear of your Mom's health problem, saying a prayer for her.

Very well spoken how you can live on the hill and still make a good life for yourself.

All three of my kids raised on the hill, my daughter put herself through college and has a good job.

But in reality it is hell living here : (

Have seen so many children neglected, just breaks my heart. Have gotten help for those I could.

I know your Mom must be very proud of you.

God Bless
