Thank you to the Schenectady Gazette for this wonderful article. I have been cloth diapering my son since he was about 3.5 months old for environmental reasons and also for the cuteness factor!!! Cloth diapering HAS come a long way and when my friends and family see my son's diapers they all are AMAZED at the look, feel and style of them. Even a nurse at my son's pediatrician's office loved them so much she told her pregnant daughter about them and she now is using cloth.
As for the last paragraph in this article...I just can not BELIEVE how judgmental Lydia Becker is. There is EVERYTHING wrong with disposable diapers, not only the environmental issues but the chemicals inside of them that are not safe. And what a horrible thing to say that moms that use cloth diapers are "new age freaks". Nothing says insecure mom better than bringing another mom down for her choice in mothering. As for the extra money, it's not about the money for most of us cloth diapering moms, its about doing what we think is best for our babies and for our world we live in.
Again thanks for the great article. I hope that other moms or moms to be take cloth diapering into consideration.
