WE ARE ALL BE GOUGED, NO MATTER WHERE YOU LIVE OR WHAT YOU ARE PAYING FOR GAS, THEY ARE RIPPING US ALL OFF. THERE IS NO JUSTIFIABLE REASON FOR GAS TO BE AS HIGH AS IT IS WHEN OIL IS GOING FOR $55 A BARREL. THEY ARE JUST GREEDY BASTARDS WHO DON'T GIVE A CRAP ABOUT THE REST OF US STRUGGLING TO GET BY. WITH THE ECONOMY THE WAY IT IS, THEY SHOULD ESPECIALLY BE LOWERING THE PRICE, BUT LIKE I SAID, THEY ARE JUST PLAIN GREEDY.

I will find something else to do with my time, pray that God takes over and doesn't let this happen. Homosexuality is a sin and therefore should NOT be accepted. There is no religion on earth that excepts homosexuality, with the exception of Satanism, and wickken so that should tell you all something. And for those of you who are going to attack me, DON'T BOTHER because I will not be reading any of the responses. Be blessed in Jesus's name.

I have children who go to Scotia-Glenville Schools and I can tell you that alot of the things that go on are swept under the rug and never even reported to parents around here. Usually, I only here about it if my children heard something at school, otherwise, my wife and I never even know. I think it is the school districts responsbility to report anything, including the names of the individuals involved, and the full details. I work right next door to the middle school and I have seen ambulances, police cars and county cars(CPS) at that particular school, pratically every other day. Bottom line here is that children are out of control. Children misbehave at school or do something that is questionable and the school blames you as a parent, but then, if you discipline your children, that is considered wrong and you could face child protective services getting involved and posssibly faceing criminal charges or worse, loosing your children. I ask you, when and where will it end??? The things that go on today are so totally ridiculous and so preventable. The schools need to be held accountable as well as parents, after all, the children are under their supervision all day, and we as parents can't be everywhere, so it is high time school officials stopped looking to blame parents and share some of the responsibility.

First off, I do not agree with gay marriage, but set that aside and this is nothing more than a political maneuver by the Governor to distract people and get them to pay attention to this issue instead of the more important things that should take presedence. Gov. Paterson is nothing more than a sick JOKE and he needs to step down and we need someone in there that is willing to do what is right for the people, instead of HIMSELF.

I also live in Glenville, and I am sick and tired of the ridiculous taxes, they tried to sneak this project in a few months ago and it was voted down, now they are going to put it in our budget vote again, hoping people will be stupid and vote "yes" because they are pitching this stimulus money will end up paying for it. Scotia-Glenville schools, ENOUGH OF THE BS AND ENOUGH TAXES ALREADY.

The problem is government has way too much say on how we raise our children, seems like your damned if you do and damned if you don't. On one hand if you don't discipline your children, then it becomes your fault when they are troublemakers and out of control, then if you do discipline them, then you become to blame because you are using excessive force. Government and particularly, Child protective services, GIVE ME A BREAK. Here is a little known fact, most CPS workers don't even have children of their own, but can come to your home and tell you how you should raise your children. I got spanked and hit with the belt when I was a child and turned out just fine, this whole thing is ridiculous and I applaud the father for doing what he did. I DO NOT beleive he deserves a criminal record for what sounds like this particular child deserved. Maybe, if children today had that fear of being punished like we did when we were children, they wouldn't be so out of control. There is a big difference between "Beating" a child and what this father did. What message does it send our children when they know full well you can't control them? What is the point of being a responsible parent and trying to raise your children right if you are not allowed to show them accountability and responsibility. And Singleworkingmom is absolutely right, now the kid who was doing everything wrong gets to be a victim, if you ask me, NICE MIXED MESSAGE!!!It is time for CPS and Government to butt out and let us raise our children without interference. Those of you interested can go to www.parentalrights.org and sign the petition to change the rights of parents to be free to raise their children as they see fit.

Well, yourfinished23, I understand where you are coming from, but I did live in Schenectady up until five years ago and I live near the city still, I am still in this County, so in essence, what the Schenectady PD is doing or not doing, in my opinion is still my business, after all, it is still my tax money paying for the police officers who choose to be irresponsible and unaccountable idiots. I personally do understand what goes on in Schenectady, because up until five years ago, I was a live-long resident of Schenectady. You are right, I am sure that other Police Departments have their issues, but Schenectady PD keeps letting these officers, continually get away with all this crap. If these officers were not doing anything wrong, they wouldn't be in the news constantly and then, nobody would have anything bad to say about them period. You are also right that the Mayor and Commisioner should have nipped this in the bud along time ago, but if it just keeps getting whitewashed, nothing will ever change. I moved out of the city because I didn't want my four children growing up there because of the decline in safety and frankly, I think the schools suck. So I hope this cleared up why I have the opinions I do.

Sounds to me yourfinished23 that you might be a Schenectady Cop hiding behind your user name on here to discredit anyone who thinks the SPD is wrong. I suggest you GROW UP and get over it. How do you know what I have a clue on, I guess you know what I am thinking, and let's get something straight, I am not a criminal, but you seem to have the criminal mentality, The Schenectady Police have drawn their own negative attention PERIOD. GET OVER IT and move on.

well, No Name, I did live there for over twenty years and I don't need little people like you telling me what to stay out of. The SPD has made a bad name for THEMSELVES PERIOD,so get off your little pitty pot and GET OVER IT.Also, Ex-police chief Kazmarek was not innocent and he is only serving 2 years for dealing drugs, so don't talk to me about how great the police department in Schenectady is, it is all about corruption, favoritism, and drug dealing. The police department should be ashamed of themselves.
