YOU WATCH THAT SHOW TOO?!?! I LOVE that show! I started watching it because the person who created it also did one of my favourite tv shows that got cancelled a while ago. "Chuck" turned out to be so great!
Also, thanks for letting me know about Stephen Colbert. Now I know what I am doing Sunday night.
I have a friend who uses the word "meh" in just about every other sentence she utters. I remember she tried to use it in one of her articles for our school newspaper, but our editor-in-chief had it cut out. :)
I've read The Best Little Girl in the World also. I don't think it made anorexia seem like a great thing either. On the contrary, it made it seem like something she had to overcome.
The real question is where do you draw the line? Smoking, sex, anorexia...obviously, you can't ban it all from teen movies.
Oh gosh, everyone misses you so much. Hang in there, and let us know when you wil be home! (Update: the construction is actually looking a little better....)
I love my curls. People with curly hair are really lucky because you can always straighten your hair, but it's really hard to get curls that look like natural curls.
I really wanted to see that (my mother has raised me through singing--especially ABBA songs), but it came out the day after I left town. I'll probably see it with my mom when I get back
I love doing Sudoku puzzles. I picked it up from my mom who does them all the time to "keep her brain active." I get this really good feeling when I can solve a Sudoky puzzle faster than my mom.
Book clubs can be fun. I attended a "Harry Potter" book club before the seventh book came out. And I must make a correction, it was not a "girly book" night...it was a "bad book" night. Almost every single one of those books was chockful with great lines, but they were all incredibly dumb. Maybe a book club that read good books would go over better...
I totally agree. How does any child deal with a mother who is trying to become "more beautiful?"
A mother is supposed to always feel their child is beautiful. That's just the way it is. How would a child feel if their mother was getting plastic surgery themselves?
Your point about how mothers and children have similar features is thought-provoking. I had not even thought of that one.
