You don't hydroplane unless you are driving too fast for the road conditions

This is another validation of the politics and "good old boy" attitude in Glenville.

"Kevin Corcoran, director of economic development and planning, said under state case law, construction must be started on a project for property owners to claim that their previous approval is still valid. If the zoning ordinance changes and construction has not started, then the project falls under the new zoning law, he said".

Funny how this comes AFTER Socha was given the go-ahead (offically that is ) to build another housing unit on Route 50.

How very sad to lose an icon. So many memories of taking my daughter there when she was little to pick out books and to see the neat assortment of toys and gifts. Congrats however on your retirement~

LOL at Chris Koetzle -- ummmm if Glenville did not have such stupid rules and stipulations about building we would have had something in that lot a long time ago. Funny how Socha was approved so quickly- money talks, right?

So very very true Newyorker! The builder has the right last name and they are being catered to. Target looks great and we are very happy that there is improvement - but now we have Friendly's that is vacant, 20 pizza shops........maybe Socha will put in a bank! There's something we need.

This is the first thing I saw this morning. It really amazes me that someone with money can get something approved so quickly- they obviously knew they were going to be approved or the signs would not have been put on the property! How long did it take for the town to approve Target- and how long is it taking for that weed infested, political sign dumping ground across from Price Chopper to be occupied? So very typical- I hope Kevin Corcoran and Grant Socha enjoy themselves laughing over the cocktails after the meetings.
"Make it look pretty"????? Seriously?
Shall I post a pic of the lot that I was referring to above? Now that needs to be made to look pretty!!

If the residents of the Town are going to be subject to Tax increases can you please make sure that the people whose salaries we pay are doing their jobs? Or at least on the job when they are supposed to be and not parked in their driveways in patrol cars during their shift? This while we are also absorbing their health insurance costs, paying unecessary overtime and watching them sitting in parking lots talking to each other in separate patrol cards or worse - talking on their cell phones and laughing while they are driving around the town. We were once advised that the police are exempt from no talking on your cell phones when driving. Does this apply if they kill someone because they were on the phone?
