According to published reports, Nordberg was euthanized August 2nd after breaking her right front leg and falling. Therefore, I'm guessing this article refers only to dirt races. You might care to change the headline and first few paragraphs to reflect that.

That there were no fatalities on the dirt track in the afternoon was wonderful news - especially with the very spotty weather this summer.

According to the track vet, at the time, there was a fatality on the turf course August 2nd. We were told Nordberg, a stakes-placed filly, was euthanized after breaking her right front cannon bone in the backstretch of a turf race.

If the vet was in error, that would be great news.
