"In other words, what often passes for economic development and sound public investment is neither." ------ " From a national perspective, jobs are not created—they are only relocated; the public return is at most zero."
HOW TRUE THESE WORDS ARE !! Please, someone explain to me the benefits derived for the people in Saratoga county, not the new residents, from the public investment in the GloFo fiasco !! The taxpayers of New York State have no idea how much it has cost them while the "baboons" in Albany brag about "job creation" ZERO NEW PERMANENT JOBS were created for Saratoga county residents, the employes came from elseware

"After 17 terms voters should know what they've got."__AND__"What again is the definition of doing something over and over and expecting a different result?" ___ RIGHT on the MONEY ___ UNFORTUNATELY, we, the voters, have amnesia at election time and/or don't realize that our vote for state & local office have a more immediate effect on our lives than our vote for national office ever will

It is expected that the gaming industry would promote the expansion of gambling - it is expected that our legislature in Albany would consider it seriously since the funds generated would be a feather in their collective caps without the social costs identified with them - a politician's dream, particularly at election time
