Bennett has been with The Gazette since 1990, working first as lifestyles editor from 1990-99 and then as features editor. He directs coverage of arts and entertainment and lifestyles, including feature stories about music, theater, dance, film, visual arts, pop culture, nature, health, seniors and food. A 33-year veteran of newspaper journalism, he started as sports editor at the Oneida Daily Dispatch in 1974 and then served in that capacity for the Royal Gazette in Bermuda in the early 1980s, where he also was a TV columnist. He became wire editor at the Post-Star in Glens Falls in 1984 and then served as city editor there for three years. He then worked in public relations with Behan Communications in Glens Falls before coming to The Daily Gazette in 1990. He lives in Halfmoon with his wife, Dorcey.
