Mark is responsible for organizing and preparing news content for both the print and online editions of The Daily Gazette. He is a 25-year veteran of the local media, with experience in both print and radio. Mark began his career as a reporter and editor for The Recorder in Amsterdam and went on to work as managing editor of The Daily Editor in Cobleskill, a sportswriter for the Centre Daily Times in State College, Pa., sports editor for The Leader-Herald in Gloversville, a copy editor for The Republican-American in Waterbury, Conn., and online editor for The Observer-Dispatch in Utica. He also has worked as an on-air personality, newscaster, talk show host and sports play-by-play broadcaster for WMYY-FM in Albany, WBLF-AM in Bellefonte, PA, and WBUG-AM and FM and WVTL-AM and FM in Amsterdam. He shared a 2002-2003 Outstanding Sports Writing Award of Excellence from the New York Newspaper Publishers Association for coverage of the NCAA Division I men's basketball East Region finals in Albany, earned a 2009-2010 Outstanding Feature Writing Award of Excellence from the New York News Publishers Association for his profile of a domestic abuse victim and shared a 2011 first-place award from the New York State Associated Press Association for Niche Website. A native of Richmondville, Mark graduated from the former Richmondville Central School and attended SUNY Cobleskill and Syracuse University before earning a bachelor's degree in political science from the University at Albany, where he also completed graduate studies in social studies education.
