Kathryn Hume is a digital news assistant in The Daily Gazette's news department.
She grew up in Duxbury, Massachusetts and is the only child of Lori and William Hume. After high school, she took a gap year to travel, participating in art programs and volunteer work in the South Pacific, Europe, and Africa. She attended Wheelock College in Boston, and graduated with a degree in Visual Art and the Humanities, with a focus in literature. Currently Kathryn is working on starting up a small business selling hand-crafted home decor pieces created with reclaimed and repurposed materials. She joined The Daily Gazette Advisory Board in 2012.
