John has been a copy editor/page designer at The Gazette since December 2004. His nightly duties include the editing of news stories and design of pages, including the front page of the Gazette's print edition. Before joining The Gazette, John was assistant news editor at The Record in Troy. Prior to that, he served as the paper's assistant sports editor. John began his journalism career as a reporter with Spotlight Newspapers, a group of weeklies headquartered in Albany County. He later served as a sports editor and news editor at the Spotlight.
