When Doug came to The Gazette he brought with him the experience of a thirty plus year career in advertising and marketing, mostly in newspapers. Doug’s newspaper experience includes advertising sales, circulation sales and management, advertising manager of nine weekly newspapers and advertising director of a daily newspaper and all its publications. Doug’s areas of expertise also includes extensive experience in every aspect of commercial printing sales.
Years of excellent customer service and a talent for ad design and creative campaigns has given him the edge in every market he services. These talents combined with an insatiable curiosity easily explain the success he has enjoyed in his career. Doug is passionate about quality, results and customer service on the job. Doug and his partner own, breed and compete with their three Giant Schnauzers in conformation and agility. They recently retired “Dora” who ended her career with 36 Best In Shows and Specialty wins. She was featured on the front page of the Daily Gazette when she won Best of Breed at the 2013 Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show.
Along with two terms of service as the President of the Giant Schnauzer Club of America, Doug has also served two terms as president of NYNAME (New York State Newspaper Advertising Managers and Executives), Gloversville-Johnstown Kiwanis Club and four years as a councilmember on the Mayfield Town Board.
