The Pre-Press department is divided into five smaller departments.
Ad Services day shift designs your ad and will send it to other papers or
to the advertiser for approval; Edition Design lays out the newspaper by
working closly with the news room, press room and advertising according to
advertising requests, news hole requirements and press capabilities; Ad
Services evening shift also designs your ad and can send it to other
papers or to the advertiser for approval along with designing special
graphs and charts for the live paper; Camera downloads or scans in
photographs for the news room checks negatives and makes the printing
plates; Computer Services outputs pages that are already paginated with
the ads to film and converts the complete paper to pdf files to post for
our online paid subscribers.
