Well, something has to be done about those who don't pay their taxes, but taking away their driver's license?... not sure that would be effective. How about cutting off the services for which their taxes support... like garbage collection, police/fire protection, etc.? THAT might wake them up!

Losing your job because you can't get to work isn't going to help you pay your taxes.
It will have the opposite effect as you collect unemployment.

That makes no sense. Would you like to live next door to someone who was a tax cheat and had a month's worth of garbage on their lawn, or have their house fire spread to yours?
Where I live, garbage collection isn't included in my taxes, I have a private hauler. The cities are the only places where it's included.

Isn't that penalty somewhat akin to debtor's prison? Both penalties make paying your obligations a little difficult if you can't get to your job...maybe we should put the old Stocks back up in the center of Veteran's Park and make the evaders do public time after work....
