One can only hope...

...but then many of you out there hoped Obama would be good for the Nation, and voted for him.
How is that working out for you?

Not good, I'm afraid to say.
A friend told me of late: now (again) we have a choice between the democrat socialists and the GOP fascists. Whom would you choose? Hmm. I needed to think.

He said most Europeans chose the socialists after WW2 (especially ITALY). And they chose them again in France in the last election.

He went on to say that the fascists offered so much but with little real liberty (except for the well connected).

The socialists are not much better but have one thing the fascists do not offer: safety nets.

In the present day USA, many of us need medicare, medicaid & social security. If it were up to the fascists (GOP)...they'd have no pensions, no nothing. It's a free-for-all with the GOP. And only the well connected make out okay. The rest of the rabble will suffer.

My friend challenged me by saying that Europe is working. I read recently that the banking crisis in Europe was most likely, (deliberately) cased by outside influences (IE: Federal Reserve). I am beginning to see his point.

He also said it is becoming apparent to many in WI and OH and other border-line states, that our elections are not what they appear to be.

I guess some among us miss the old GOP. This new one scares the pants off of a lot of people.
