Governor Cuomo's plans are not even close to what is needed to reform state government. He needs to streamline government by getting rid of redundant functions and programs. He needs to reduce the government's work force starting at the top with his cronies and appointees. He needs to revamp the pension plan by first eliminating pensions for all elected officials and the staffs and raising the minimum retirement age. Also, the Comptroller should be replaced as the sole trustee of the Pension system with a Board of Trustees that is made up of stake holders not crony political appointees. These are some of the proposals I had when I ran for State Comptroller in 2010.
