Lets see...Police force is an ongoing joke, the schools are among the state's worst, taxes are the highest around....the city can't get that stuff right...what chance do the roads have?

Geez that is not what the Gazette and our city council tells us...Look how great those two blocks downtown are...The best of the best!

No better, no worse, than any other city in the Northeast. It's the nature of our changing seasons that ruin our roads and apparently there's just not enough money to keep up the maintenance.

Union Street, possibly the main road to downtown, is a series of ruts, enough to damage one's car. No time to view those beautiful homes on Doctor's Row while avoiding the craters under wheels.

You can't be serious. Try just driving down Albany St, from Colonie, to Schenectady.

As soon as you hit the Schenectady town line, you hit a pothole, and after that, it's not unlike the surface of the moon.

In the winter, when all of the surrounding towns have clean dry blacktop, the roads are like a bob sled run with craters.

If Schenectady isn't the third world, then you can certainly see it from here.

In the winter it is the same. Coming in from any direction into Schenectady, you know when you hit the Schenectady line...you go from cleared smooth roads to third world conditions...the most disgusting thing is that we are the highest taxed with the lowest quality of services...poor leadership from our elected officials at all levels and those that they appoint and hire to manage our workforce..Plain and simple..And there is better out there all around us as we are THE WORSE! No question about it! The only ones that say it isn't so are those in power setting up their pensions so they can move on to greener pastures. As they will and do...leaving us to pay their way as a life sentence...

It's no big secret that inadequate snow removal results in exponentially more pot holes, as the snow melts, gets into the pavement, refreezes, expands in to a kind of asphalt zit, and then breaks apart.

Repaving the roads, is only curing the symptom.

Is this a joke? Just drive through Schenectady and the answer will be obvious. It is an embarrassment to the city.

It seems to be a secret to the political leaders and the management of the inadequate workforce we are paying to do the work...it is all a political cancer that needs removal because it is killing us.....
I agree..repaving is not the answer!
