Hey Ed, one of those rights is for people to choose HOW they celebrate.

Memorial day is to honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice not relax go to a lake or hit the road for a visit. If that were, the meaning of the holiday they would have it named it a relax day or a go visit day or better yet go jume in the lake holiday.

I agree with you ed186. Just because men and women fought and died for our country to have the right to choose how we celebrate doesn't mean we should party hearty in their memory! We should take the time to honor them respectfully, and playing frisbee on the sandy beach just doesn't seem right. I know many people who are have huge parties this weekend and I know for a fact that none of them will take a second to honor those who died for their right to party. A party is fine, but how about first visiting the gravesite of one of those young men or women who did not make it back... the hot dogs can wait a half hour!
