Not with the present day teacher's union contract..this will only mean more jobs and costs to the taxpayer that we do not have..Only if the teachers union hires outside contractors to teach this course out of their pocket. Otherwise this a money maker for them...and a loss to us the taxpayers. Let's leave this to the volunteer groups like Boy Scouts, Little League, Church Groups et al..We have to stop this nonsense of using taxpayer dollars. This is not how it was done when I was child..we didn't have the tax dollars then and we certainly do not have them now...what has changed except the greed of these teachers.

And another thing, you can't get the schools to teach what they are required by law to teach students now..what makes you think they will be able to do another added task of requirement...Lets get the schools to fulfill the requirements they already have or cut back on what they already do have...apparently they have too much to hand now with such a low graduation rate...especially in Schenectady!
