It boggles one's mind that any individual would be in favor of abruptly ending America's space pioneering heritage in Outer Space without a new exploration program in place.
The obvious economic impact of lost jobs at NASA, which, depending on whose account you choose to believe will be anywhere from 3200 jobs to over 6,000 in Florida and Texas, is horrible. Factor in the thousands of individuals in support jobs involving NASA vendors around the country, diners, dry cleaners, gas stations real estate and construction workers in Houston and Central Florida and the numbers take on added significance.
Look around your home today, too many of the everyday objects you use to make your life easier and more comfortable are ideas or inventions that are constructed with or are using materials and innovations developed as a direct result of this country's space program. American research benefiting Americans in countless ways, including health care, nutrition and quality of life all are direct or indirect results of NASA problem solving.NASA research also contributed mightily to our military effectiveness, keeping all of us safer in our own home and abroad, helping in countless ways to secure our victory in the arms race and Cold War.

Word is, American Astronauts are now going to be required to learn Russian as a second language if they wish to continue flying in space....aboard an antiquated poorly funded space program the US ground into reality so many years ago.
We spent billions, and American families reaped the financial watershed of those billions establishing our space and scientific dominance. Now we get to hand over billions to the Russians so they can reap the reward of our hard earned work and harder earned dollars.
Nice work Obama, JFK would really be proud......
