Ely had the other job and he knew it. He did the severance he did just to "get" the city. And Southbridge didn't tell Schenectady because they KNEW they couldn't afford Ely's salary without Schenectady contributing some. Southbridge has ONE FOURTH the number of students Schenectady does. So much for Ely wanting to use his talents to better an urban district the way he said he wanted to.

Have to agree with Strock's July 1 column: "fine example 'for the kids'".
All board members who voted for the deal should be voted out. And any who knew the details of the upcoming agreement who didn't share it with the public should be voted out too.
