I couldn't care less that one of Paterson's aides is involved in a scandal. Well, no that's not true - it's always bothersome when any politician is involved in a scandal. However, it really has little to nothing to do with Paterson himself. I think Paterson should resign because he's done absolutely nothing good for the people of the state. He's an ineffective governor. He says he wants to end our financial crisis. That's laudible. Too bad he hasn't actually *done* anything to help. All of his ideas involve further financially hurting the taxpayers.

Last I knew citizens are considered innocent until proven guilty, hence this demand for resignation is sort of putting the cart before the horse. Paterson came into office under a cloud amid the worst financial meltdown since the great depression. He has tried very hard to convince our dysfunctional legislature to work toward closure of the budget gap, unfortunately with no success. He clearly does not have the charisma to be either a leader or a winner, but he is still the governor and should continue to do that job until the end of his term or indictment.

If Paterson resigns who will be governor? I think we need to ride this out.

We should definitely ride this one out - Gov Paterson has tried very hard to take the responsible position of stemming the financial problems of this State - there appears to be absolutely no one in our current legislature with either the desire and/or ability to understand the problem and address it. I give a lot of credit to the Governor to at least be willing to try. I think I would have bailed a long time ago.

WordWiz78 says "He says he wants to end our financial crisis. That's laudible." Actually, laudible isn't a word. Laudable is, but it means worthy of high praise.

You use the wrong word - AND misspell it?
