If you wish to truly find out why Mexicans cross the border into the U.S., I urge you to read Jimmy Breslin's book, The Short Sweet Dream of Eduardo Gutierrez. It's the true story of a young Mexican who seeks a better life in the U.S. The back-story is the life he leaves behind. It will leave you with a better understanding of why they risk life and limb to come here.

I don't care where you come from or what your story is. If you want to come to America for a better life then become an American citizen.
