It would be interesting to know the average age of those answering the poll question. I'm 45 and just started being a Twitt. I feel like a spaz but it's fun. One more thing to waste time on. I don't know where people find the time to visit all these other social networking sites, much less create a page and keep it updated. More power to them!

I'm 62 and although I know about all these social networking sites, I choose not to participate. You are taking a very big risk when you post all your personal information online. Everybody's reading your stuff... your friends, your family... and the bad guys too! People post pictures of their children and these days it's easy to find out where you live if you post your name and picture! Some people even post when they'll be going on vacation, letting the whole world know that their house will be vacant and available to burglars! I admit to doing a lot of email because family/friends live far away, but there is at least some security still attached to email, but none attached to these social networking sites. As I was raking leaves yesterday I wondered what ever happened to all the young people in my neighborhood... I would hire a couple in a second to rake for me... but they're not outdoors anymore... they're inside on these websites posting heaven-knows-what information about themselves or their families! They should be out walking around the neighborhood with a rake (and a shovel in the wintertime) looking for odd jobs! The internet is a great tool, but there's way too much personal information on people floating around out there!

That's not true -- for one, these sites only post what you put there, so if you use a little common sense, there's nothing to worry about. For another, most of these sites do have robust security controls, so that you can choose who gets to read what and keep anyone, or everyone, out of your profile.
