Resolutions are so binding -- they make me feel like I've failed if I fall off the wagon, to the point that I end up giving up entirely.

Time 4 all u heavyweights out there to get in shape and train hard and there r no excuses It will help you with your low self esteem and lay off the cookies and all the other junk food you eat. Get motivated for once in your life and do it. It is really not that hard if you have any heart at all!!!!!!!!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!!

To dhopkins... getting in shape has nothing to do with New Year's resolutions. In fact, it may be counter-productive. If you fail at your resolution, your self esteem will sink even lower and you'll head for the dreaded cookies and other junk food! Therefore, I have to agree with mhowie. If you want to exercise do it, but don't set unrealistic goals or you will be disappointed if you can't fulfill the resolution.
