I hear all of the time how Democrats want to have too much government control and that's why we shouldn't vote for them. I hear the distribution of wealth is terrible and welfare is crippling our society. Free markets should be free to fail too! I am furious that my tax dollars are being spent to bail out these greedy heartless creatures. This countries wealth IS being distributed and the biggest welfare check ever in the history of the world has just been written! If this is such a democratic society, why aren’t we voting on if we should be spending this money?
Millions of people have lost their homes without an ounce of sympathy from the banks who loaned them money. Much of the time it was the interest, not the base payments, which pushed people over the edge. Everyone has debt and many have lost money following their dreams. Insurance companies, banks and credit card companies have been deceptive and cruel to their creditors and customers for years. They have shown no mercy for late payments due to illness, job loss, etc. They have not earned our mercy!
This bailout is gaping wound that cannot be fixed by a band aid. We now will own money to the likes of China and Dubai. We don’t even get to TRY to read the terms and conditions of these loans. We have no idea the risk associated with taking this money. I think as a democratic society, we should in the least be given all the information and then have an educated vote, rather than be forced to sign a blank check when we dont have the money in the bank to cover it!

I don’t want to hear one politician ever say again about lowering or increasing taxes. We end up paying one way or the other anyway…call it taxes, surcharges, garbage tax or good old boys club fee’s..it doesn’t really matter because it all has the same end result-our money being taken from us!

stefinschdy I agree with most of what you say but your statement

"If this is such a democratic society, why aren’t we voting on if we should be spending this money?"

is not correct

The USA is not a Democracy it is a Republic. People don't vote on a federal level the states do. This is why we have elected officials. Their job is to vote the will of the people they represent, while upholding the constition. Which most of them don't do. If you are unhappy about the bailout you should let your State and Federal representatives know by calling or emailing them. The following website can help you find your representatives contact information.
