God so ordained since he created all, that man and women should be married into union, not men to men or women to women, but mankind will so dictate the perverseness of there own beleifs whether God likes it or not;but in the end God will have the last say so and those ,whether homosexuality or other sins, will stand in judgement for those sins and without Christ as there lord and savour will not enter into the kingdom of heaven. I know this will get flack for what God says about this subject, but you who love yourself rather then God will have to endure the judgement.

Disallowing Gay & Lesbian marriages, unlike the thoughts of many, will not discontinue Gay & Lesbian couples. This is a question of legal rights and how it affects people in general. Let's face it - the only real legal benefit to marriage is the ability to put someone on your insurance policy! Lighten up people! Gays and Lesbians are creating unions - regardless of legality. In the long run it affects NO ONE, except the couples in question. Get a life! (To all you haters). Btw, I am not a lesbian... but a firm believer in people minding their own business. I don't see how this issue is even for debate. If it doesn't affect you - then butt out.

My God as I understand him is a loving one and he speaks of loving one another. Many of my gay friends are in committed relationships without the support of medical benefits or legal protections in regards to property and children. Most likely the push against marriage comes from a very strong lobby of Insurance Companies in my opinion.

When two people love each other what is the problem. They should have the same protections and rights as anyone else

A marriage license, like fishing, hunting and drivers licenses, is issued by the state. No one should be denied one if they meet the basic requirements, hunter safety course for hunting, Drivers Ed for driving or a certain age for marriage. If a person has religious objections to homosexuality they should join churches that don’t allow gays or lesbians to marry, but should not force their religious beliefs on the rest of society. Remember a marriage is not necessarily a religious ceremony nor does a marriage performed as part of a religious service have any more standing then one performed by a Mayor or Judge or a Ships Captain, if ship captains can actually marry people. Don’t keep two people in love from being able to live their lives together with the legal benefits of a state issued legal document. God has nothing to do with a marriage license; people are invoking the name of God to further their bigotry and hatred.

I had been thinking about posting a comment here, but just haven't found the time to write it. But bobbrindel's post took the words right out of my fingertips. I completely agree.

Gay marriage SHOULD be legalized for two reasons. One reason is because for all citizens of this country to have the same freedoms under the laws that we all abide by we as a people have to legalize gay marriage. The founding fathers of this nation were men of God yes, BUT the church ruled England and thats why there had to be a separation of church and state. We cannot tell people where to go to church, we cannot tell people to abide by church rules, and all people should never have to abide by another persons belief if its not their own. Second, I am a Christian, I do not judge homosexuals and do not believe that they are bad people. I believe God loves them as his children. All Christians know and believe that free agency is a huge part of our life on earth. That we must choose good from evil , to have a choice. By voting to allow homosexuals to marry doesn't mean you are agreeing with it , you are just giving them their free agency, their freedom to choose, and if they choose to get married or not its their fault after that not yours. That is a very important life lesson for all humanity. We cannot continue to pry into others lives and tell them what they are doing is wrong and then support laws to make it so they cannot even have their free agency to choose right from wrong.Love people and open your minds...this is coming from a Hetero Christian. Please America , open your minds and hearts...

Why shouldn't two people that love each other be able to get married? We let hetrosexual couples that don't love each other to get married - and that makes sense? And God sanctions those marriages?
